This week was Maori Language Week. We had to do the minimum of 4 create task since I missed 2 reading sessions so I only did  4 . 1st was my Explanation of the Ruru bird. 2nd was my Maori numbers to ten. Third was places in NZ in Maori and 4th was my Pepeha! Enjoy!

 

Stella and Greg

Welcome to another blog post! In this blog post I have my narrative writing here called Stella and Greg. Stella is a character I made up in my head in writing time. Greg is also a character I made up in my head in writing time as my monster when we had to choose 4 animals to morph together to make our monster. Enjoy!


Stella was watching netflix in her room like she always does. Stella has long brown hair and beautiful brown eyes. Stella also likes doing exercise and keeping fit so she is going on a run later afternoon. Stella had beautiful white teeth as white as snow. Stella is very nice and has many friends but she is very she is very shy. Stella has a wonderful expensive house, it also had a pool and a onsweet in every bedroom. Her hiking track was covered in green slimly vines and the stench of the rotten leaves made her gag. But the bees buzzing and the flowers blooming made her forget all about it. She could feel the solf cool wind on her face and when the rotten leaves corested her arm it sent shivers down her sine. Most of the animals fly away or run off when the hear or see Stella except this one little bird. When Stella walks past everyday and normally that little bird would continue on the walk with her. One normal regular day Stella was taking her walk on her hiking trail when shy reached the point where the bird meet her everyday was not there, Stella didn’t think much of it and carried on but then further alone the track she saw the bird the she was meant to meet lying on the ground injured. She realised that it wasn’t a normal bird it was a lion and a phoenix and a butterfly and a pig at the same time. She took it to the vet anyways. When they got to the vet they found out it’s name was Greg but they also sadly found out that Greg had a fracture and I would take 3-6 weeks to heal. Greg and Stella made it home and Stella decided that Greg will be her pet and will come hiking with her everyday.

Student Summit 2020

 Hello

I was one of the lucky 30 people to do the Student Summit 2020. Student Summit is were all the school from our cluster get together and make tool work shops. Our Presenters were Ella and Daniel for Session 1 and 2 and Kezia and Jaydah for 3 and 4. My workshops were Scratch Math's, but sadly I couldn't keep up so I have nothing for that. Second was Stop Motion, it went well until one of the presenters didn't talk. Then we had our morning tea and came back in for our third. My Third was Kezia and Jaydah Embedding Stuff into blogs. Here they are!

My Favorite one was my Scratch Shapes but I was not able to get it on this blog post. 😔

My Milk & Skittles Experiment

 Hello,

This is my science experiment with Ella and Skyla. We have decided to to the skittles and milk experiment because we thought it would be better for us and easier because there wasn't many materials/ingredients. We used skittles, smarties and M&M's. We also used blue top milk that has been in the fridge for about 24 hours. We started off but having 3 paper plates and poring the milk into them. Then putting the candy around the edge. We waited for about 15 minutes and the smarties we are blob mess and the M&M's were okay. But the sour skittles were of course amazing. Enjoy!

Create Tasks Week 8

These are my create tasks from week 8. This week was Tongan Language! We had choose a book and I choose a book called Spitfires from Tonga. This book is about spitfires in war and about the special  there years ago. We had to do 2 create tasks this week and the first one is to create a animated glossary with 10 words sadly I was not able to complete this task. The 2nd task was a tourist brochure and that brochure had to have 10 or more facts, I did mine on paper. Enjoy!

Coke and Mentors Experiment

This week in science we did the Coke and Mentos Experiment this is why the reaction happened n the Diet Coke bottle the Mentos candy provides a rough surface that allows the bonds between the carbon dioxide gas and water to break more easily, helping to create carbon dioxide bubbles. ... Because Mentos candies are rather dense, they sink rapidly through the liquid, causing a fast, large eruption.

Time for a Spell

This week we have been learning how to create a prediction and join on the summary! WALT use clips from the text to find hidden messages. I choose this book because it sounded interesting and was so mysterious and Time for a spell I was not expecting what happened. In this blog post I did a prediction of what happened next and a summary!

My Character Description

WALT describe a character! In this DLO I described my monster called Greg and it also comes with a wonderful drawing of him as well as the description!😀 It describes all about him! Like his physical appearance and emotional feelings!Enjoy!! 😉👍  

This is Greg, Greg may seem a little frightening with his looks but he is a really nice guy of course I would know because I’m his best friend! Greg no offence to him but he’s overweight he is 127 kg and about 6 metres long, imagine carrying that? Overall he is a very nice guy! If you meet Greg you may be frightened but don’t act like it because he will get shy and doubt himself. Greg looks like a flying morphed animal.

Greg's face is a little weird it is like a pig but a phoenix at the same time! His nose is also a pig but it is like half off his face. Greg’s wings are questionable they are like the very bad fabric that you get from K-mart when there’s a sale on. I mean how can you carry 127 kgs with butterfly wings!?!?!? Greg’s legs are a loins legs well 1 of them the other three are pigs legs?

Greg’s body is a lion well most of it. He has a strong lion body which is the most threatening part of this body really. Greg's tail is as fluffy as a cloud well the end of it is. The main part of his tail is very bony and fast when he moves it, it can whip you very easily one time my friend got whipped by it and it stung like a bee! And that's Greg!!!( Real Name Gregory)

Create Task Week 1 Term 3

Hello 

I choose this book called Scaredy Crow because I was really interesting when our teachers explained it and when I was living in Australia there was so many crows squawking and now I'm really interested in them ... to find out why they squawk so much!!! In this blog post I did a poorly drawn drawing and I'm not the happiest with it  but it's not the worst I've drawn. This scene is important in the story because it captures most of the story in itself because the bird id looking very scared and in my opinion  the scare crow looks pretty scary. Enjoy!!👍

Whales Information Report

This is my Information Report about Whales!

I did whales because it is my favorite animal and I think they are very beautiful animals.

The Task was to right a successful Informational Report.

Whales

                 Introduction

Do you know that whales are actually a bluey-gray color? You wouldn’t think this because to the human eye whales look true blue. You should read this information report because you will learn about the whales physical characteristics, their diet, habitat and their environmental dangers.

 

                          Diet

Whales eat many things. Whales eat many things like some of the smallest fish in the sea. They mainly eat krill which is a very small species of fish in the ocean. But evan though they are large animals they don’t eat large prey.

                  Physical Characteristics

Whales have got many physical characteristics. 

Whales have long thin teeth and a yellowish underbelly. Underwater whales look true blue but really they are more grey than blue. This helps them to survive because since the ocean is blue the whales blend in beautifully so that they can hide from their predators killer whales.(Orca whales).

                            Habitat

      Whales can swim and live in many places. Whales live in many different places like the Arctic ocean and the Antarctic ocean they also like to romme around blackish waters.

                   

                        Environmental dangers

      Whales have many environmental dangers. One of then is chemical pollution from the noisy ship lanes around their habitat. Surprisingly whales are afraid of noise The main concern of this is that even a slight increase in sound may make  echolocation more difficult for whales. That's worrying because their prey, chinook salmon, is already quite scarce.

                              Conclusion

      Whales are beautiful creatures. Whale’s have many physical characteristics, places where they live, and have many Environmental dangers much more then you would expect, but really don’t eat much.                      What I learnt is that the Chinese students work a lot harder that us English students.

                   I learnt that the Tasmanian Devil used to live in the mainland of Australia.
                            I also learnt that a Male Tasmanian Devil Length is 65 cm.

What I've been doing in lockdown

In lockdown  I have been doing lots of gaming, baking and playing lots of board games. I have been going on many walks and I got a new scooter. During lockdown I did lots of baking we baked a banana chocolate chip cake with chocolate frosting. I love to play minecraft in creative and survival mode. I played with my dog Lachie lots. The board games we played were Monopoly Ultimate Banking, Monopoly Empire and some chess.
